The situation
Matthew had developed the T.R.A.I.L.S method for planning hikes. He and Chase worked together to turn it into software, with Matthew testing the product and Chase building it.
The work
- Translated the planning method into product flows and a full-stack application.
- Built route and GPX tools, gear planning, meals, logistics, and collaborative trips.
- Added public trip publishing, account access, billing, and AI-assisted trip drafts that work with product data.
- Revised the application as Matthew tested it and shared feedback.
What followed
The result
Chase built a working application and revised it through rounds of Matthew's feedback. As of October 2026, PeakBound's public site is collecting waitlist interest ahead of launch.
