The situation
Tim brought directory-building expertise and an audience. Chase built software those people could use to collect listing data, publish a directory, and charge for listings or advertising.
The work
- Built an initial directory-data MVP with login, listing data, and CSV export, then expanded the product with Tim's feedback.
- Developed a visual site builder, custom domains, publishing, and blog management.
- Built AI-assisted business discovery and listing enrichment, alongside subscriptions and directory monetization tools.
- Handled product engineering and production maintenance while Tim contributed domain expertise and go-to-market work.
What followed
The result
The initial data tool grew into a subscription platform for building and monetizing directory websites. Directorly 2.0 launched in early 2026.
